any more than you need to understand how a car works in order to start it and drive it. Or watch TV or Phone to someone, OK! But it’s still good to know a little bit of everything to not be completely at loss when you want to use html somewhere, car doesn’t start, tv has bad reception, etc.

that’s correct. Software is sophisisticated enough that you don’t need to learn HTML any more than you need to understand how a computer works in order to turn it on and use it.
